About Me
Research background in developing microscopic physical models of quantum opto-electronic devices such as mid- and far-infrared (Terahertz) quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) and quantum well infra-red photodetectors (QWIPs) by combining solutions of Schrodinger’s equations with electron-phonon and electron-electron scattering mechanisms and solving the resultant rate equations self-consistently. Author of `Quantum Wells, Wires and Dots: theoretical and computational physics of semiconductor nanostructures’ the 4th edition of which was with Alex Valavanis and published by Wiley in 2016.
Current research interests are in technologies such as: hydrogen, batteries, rail, air pollution monitoring for a sustainable environment; cyber security; medical technologies.
Consultancy: developing and implementing strategy.
