About Me

Dr Nic Dunlop previously lectured in English at Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Birmingham. A specialist in postcolonial writing and contemporary literature, he has published widely and is currently completing a monograph on representations of education and postcolonialism in science fiction. Nic has presented papers at conferences in Europe and the United States, and currently serves on the editoral board of the academic journal Antipodes, and on the executive board of the Postcolonial Studies Association.
Nic teaches on a range of modules across the English programme, and in 2013 was nominated for the Vice-Chancellor’s Enterprise Educator’s Award. He was appointed Head of English at USW in 2014, and was Head of Humanities from 2017-18.
