About Me

I'm an RIBA Chartered Architect with extensive construction industry experience having worked in private architectural practice both in the UK and Asia from 1992 until 2013 when I moved into education.

In 2018 I joined USW's Built Environment team, based within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science.

I am Course leader for the undergraduate BSc Construction Project Management degree, and lecture in construction technology, construction management, project management, management of buildings and BIM.

Prior to my academic career, I was a Senior Associate Director of a large architectural practice. As well as delivering projects, my role included contributing to the running of the Cardiff Studio; resource planning, pipeline opportunities, staffing, finances, line management, etc.

My industry expertise is in the successful delivery of large multi-building developments, taking the projects from feasibility through to completion. As such I have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of a project, including programming, invoicing, resourcing, client and stakeholder interface, presentation and delivery.

My portfolio includes a wide range of different building types from residential and schools through to specialist technical facilities and master-planning schemes within various sectors; defence, education, commercial, healthcare and interiors.
