I am a Chartered Civil engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK). I worked in the construction industry for several years managing various projects from inception and design through to tender, build and final hand-over before joining the academic world. I am currently, an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of South Wales. I have published circa 50 plus articles describing and documenting my research work in peer reviewed international journals and refereed international conferences, with more in preparation as well as submitting about three technical research reports to bodies such as the Welsh Assembly Government. I am involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and research supervision, I am also involved in the development of policies and processes that support Teaching, Quality Assurance, Student Experience and Achievement.  I am a member of numerous national and international technical committees, member of various Validation / Review panels and Examination Board. . My Specialist teaching areas include: Geotechnics and Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering Practice, Construction Management, Engineering Site Practice & Surveying, Advanced Civil Engineering Materials, Low Carbon Technologies & Sustainability, Construction Materials and individual Dissertation​
