I am a molecular microbiologist experienced in bacterial genetics and genomics. My research interests are in how bacteria interact with each-other in their environment, and how certain species dominate and eliminate competitors. My current active projects are focused on the microbial contamination of the environment, sustainable resource use and the development of antimicrobial resistance in the natural environment. 

I have published work in the fields of antibiotic discovery, antibiotic resistance, bacterial genomics and the development of alternatives to antimicrobials in animal feeds.  I have worked as a BBSRC post doctoral researcher at Cardiff University, and obtained my PhD at Imperial College London.

Rwy'n ficrobiolegydd moleciwlaidd sydd â phrofiad mewn geneteg a genomeg bacteril. Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn ymwneud â sut mae bacteria yn rhyngweithio â'i gilydd yn eu hamgylchedd, a sut mae rhai rhywogaethau'n dominyddu ac yn dileu cystadleuwyr. Mae fy mhrosiectau gweithredol presennol yn canolbwyntio ar halogiad microbaidd yr amgylchedd, defnyddio adnoddau cynaliadwy a datblygu ymwrthedd gwrthficrobaidd yn yr amgylchedd naturiol.

Rwyf wedi cyhoeddi gwaith ym meysydd darganfod gwrthfiotigau, ymwrthedd i wrthfiotigau, genomeg bacteriol a datblygu dewisiadau amgen i gyffuriau gwrthficrobaidd mewn bwydydd anifeiliaid. Rwyf wedi gweithio fel ymchwilydd ôl-ddoethurol BBSRC ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, ac wedi ennill fy PhD yng Ngholeg Imperial Llundain.
